From first session to global streaming, the Music Industry department runs the business side of LSR's audio catalog, without ever touching the masters.
Every LSR release, organized and rights-cleared for distribution.
Every release goes out through DistroKid, with royalty registration handled through SOCAN, ASCAP, BMI, or the artist's own PRO, plus Billboard chart tracking and publishing registration, so nothing an artist earns goes uncounted.
LSR operates its own studios in Kampala, Uganda and London, UK, with additional session access through partner studios in Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal. A fully portable kit (Apollo Twin interface, Warm Audio WA251, WA8000, and WA67 tube mics) lets engineers set up a broadcast-grade session almost anywhere, so no artist is limited by geography.
Placement requests for film, advertising, and media, administered on behalf of the Musician, never owned.
Stream the artists building Land Sky Records across North America, the UK, and Africa. Follow them on Spotify to catch every new album and release first.
Land Sky Records still uses a 360 structure, but split fairly and without the debt trap. 80% of earnings go toward the label's costs and repaying the artist's advance, and the artist keeps 20% outright from day one. Once that balance is half paid down, the split moves to 50/50 for the rest of the term. Advances are delivered as credited services (studio time, marketing, production), not cash, and LSR never holds an artist's masters.
In a typical major label deal, the artist's 10 to 15% royalty is the money used to pay back the advance, while the label's share is never touched. That is why so many artists never see a cheque. At LSR, the advance is repaid from the label's 80%, so your 20% goes straight to you from your first stream.
