Skye Spence is an Indigenous Winnipeg based photographer, cinematographer, and visual artist whose work explores the quiet human presence, focusing on fleeting gestures, emotional restraint, and the subtle ways people/objects occupy space.

His practice balances documentary restraint with cinematic sensitivity, often focusing on portraiture, street environments, and lived human experience. Light, gesture, and silence play central roles, allowing meaning to emerge without excess or spectacle.

His work is influenced by personal history, recovery, and spiritual inquiry, Spence’s work frequently engages themes of transformation, resilience, and the unseen inner life. Rather than directing emotion, he creates space for it, approaching image making as an act of listening.
